Independent school systems & operations

Admissions, tuition, and technology selection for independent schools — core year and auxiliary programs alike. We start with how your school actually runs, then choose the tools.

What we work on

Admissions & enrollment systems

Evaluation and selection against your real requirements: inquiries, applications, contracts, sibling and returning-family workflows.

Data strategy & reporting

One version of the truth across admissions, tuition, and communication, with reports the head of school and board will actually use.

Workflow mapping

Year-by-year mapping of who does what, when, across admissions, the business office, and auxiliary programs, so configuration follows the work.

Technology alignment

Making your SIS, tuition management, accounting, and communication tools agree with each other, and retiring what you no longer need.

Auxiliary program integration

Summer programs, facility rentals, and extended care sharing the same family data as the core school year, instead of living in a separate system.

Systems assessment

A structured review of fit, efficiency, and data leverage, delivered as a written recommendation you own.

How we work with independent schools

Built around the school year, not our calendar

Admissions season, tuition billing cycles, and the start of the school year are windows where nothing can break. Everything we do is sequenced around that, which is why the same four steps look different here than they do for a business client.

The calendar sets the schedule

Discovery and mapping happen over the summer or between terms. Nothing gets reconfigured during admissions season or the first weeks of school, and nothing gets touched mid-year without a rollback.

Process before software

A new SIS will not settle who approves a tuition adjustment or how a sibling discount works. We decide that first, then configure to match.

Your team runs it in September

Configuration your business office and admissions team can operate without calling you, documented so the next hire inherits it instead of rediscovering it.

What an engagement looks like

Four steps, in order

  1. 01

    Listen

One conversation, 45 to 60 minutes, usually over the summer or between terms while the friction is still fresh. What broke, what got done by hand, what nobody wants to repeat.

  2. 02

    Map the year

Admissions opening through the last day of classes. Who touches each record, where families call instead of self-serving, and which spreadsheet is quietly the real database.

  3. 03

    Recommend

A written read on keep, fix, or replace for each system, plus a requirements list you can send to any vendor without us in the room.

  4. 04

    Implement and hand over

Configuration, forms, reports, and a staff walkthrough before go-live, then a check-in after the first full year on the new setup.

Year-shaped, but the principles are firm-wide. Read the principles or the four steps in full.

Quick self-check

Where does your season break?

Six questions, two minutes, nothing sent anywhere. It tells you which part of the year we would look at first.
